01About this app

MetricPulse creates home screen widgets from webpages and APIs that you choose. This policy covers the MetricPulse Android app. Support and privacy contact: metricpulse@chenjianyi.com.

02Data on your device

The app stores your card settings, source URLs, selected webpage rules, fetched values, up to seven days of numeric history, widget bindings and interface preferences on your device. Request headers, including saved API keys and webpage cookies, are encrypted with a key held by Android Keystore. Saved Google Play purchase proof is also encrypted. Other app data and the browser's website storage use ordinary Android app storage; they are not all encrypted by MetricPulse. Android app backup is disabled.

03Webpages and APIs

Your phone connects directly to the sources you configure. There is no MetricPulse server that receives your cards or proxies their content. The selected provider receives your IP address and the URL, request headers, body and credentials that you send to it. Browser pages may load scripts, images, analytics or other resources from additional providers under their own policies. Website sign-in takes place in an Android WebView. Background script reads use the app browser's current website session; changing a website account can change the data read.

Use HTTPS wherever possible. Plain HTTP is available for user-configured sources, such as local devices; traffic to those sources is not encrypted in transit. The app blocks credential headers over HTTP. Do not put secrets in URL query parameters.

04Source icons

To display recognizable source icons, the app may request a public hostname from Google's favicon service at google.com/s2/favicons, or a standard cryptocurrency symbol from the cryptocurrency-icons project through cdn.jsdelivr.net. These services receive normal connection information, including your IP address. Icon requests do not include your API path, URL query, request headers, cookies or keys. IP addresses, localhost and recognized local hostname suffixes are excluded from these lookups. Icons are cached on your device. Custom webpage and API requests are separate from icon requests.

05Purchases

Google Play processes Pro payments under Google's policies. MetricPulse does not receive your payment card or bank details. The app uses the product identifier, purchase token, signed receipt and purchase state to verify ownership, restore access and confirm purchases. Verification and confirmation contact Google Play. Verified proof is stored on your device for offline access. Refunds and ownership changes can only be learned after a successful connection to Google Play.

06Analytics and advertising

MetricPulse does not include advertising or a developer-operated analytics service, and does not sell your personal information. This does not prevent the websites you choose, Google Play, or icon providers from processing connection or service data under their own policies.

07Backups and sharing

Exporting a backup writes a JSON file to a location you choose through Android's document picker. It includes card configuration and full source URLs, but excludes saved request headers, cookies, purchase proof, fetched values and numeric history. A URL can itself contain private tokens or identifiers: review the file before sharing it. Importing a backup may require you to re-enter credentials or sign in again.

08Retention and deletion

Deleting a card removes its stored readings, history, saved request credentials and widget bindings. Numeric history is pruned to seven days as new readings are recorded. Deleting a card does not sign you out of websites in the app browser. Use Android Settings → Apps → MetricPulse → Storage → Clear storage to remove all local app data, including browser sessions; uninstalling the app also removes its local app storage. Exported backups remain wherever you saved them until you delete them. Data retained by websites and Google Play is controlled by those providers.

MetricPulse has no separate MetricPulse account and does not require account registration. Signing in to a third-party website does not create an account with MetricPulse.

09Children and policy changes

MetricPulse is a general-purpose data tool and is not directed at children under 13. Changes to this policy will be published with an updated effective date. Contact metricpulse@chenjianyi.com for privacy questions.
